Meet Our Founder
Cathy Armstrong, LPC-S, RN, REV
Cathy is a licensed professional counselor supervisor, registered nurse, functional nutritionist, and holistic healing practitioner. With extensive training in depth psychology, neuroscience, somatic therapy, EMDR, energy psychology, and contemplative traditions, she brings a unique integrative approach to healing that bridges science and spirituality. Cathy has a masters degree in counseling and a *non secular doctorate degree in religious studies unrelated to counseling. She is an ordained interfaith minister with training in all faiths.

• Traditional EMDR helps process distressing memories, but trauma is stored in the body. I incorporate somatic therapy, breathwork, and tapping (EFT) to release stored tension and rewire emotional responses.
• Mindfulness-based techniques help ground you in the present and reduce nervous system dysregulation.
2. Neuroscience & Neuroplasticity
• Trauma affects brain function and perception. I integrate neuropsychotherapy and neuroplasticity-based techniques to strengthen new, healthier neural pathways.
• I incorporate bilateral stimulation beyond eye movements, using sound therapy, body-based resourcing, and rhythmic techniques to enhance neurobiological healing.
3. Functional Nutrition for Emotional Well-Being
• Gut health and nutrition play a critical role in mental health. I help clients understand how diet, hormones, and inflammation impact mood and recovery.
• Personalized recommendations for plant-based nutrition, functional medicine, and Ayurveda support emotional regulation is not offered, however we can supply you with resources upon request.
4. Energy Psychology & Spiritual Healing
• EMDR meets energy work: I see many clients that see me for therapy and seek community resources that offer Reiki, chakra balancing, and vibrational healing for deeper emotional release.
• Inner child and shadow work help resolve deep-seated beliefs and patterns that influence current struggles.
